Bethel Park, Penn., July 12, 2005 – With an array of consumer-to-consumer, business-to-consumer and business-to-business sites online designed to provide a virtual outlet for everything under the sun, the process of buying products online has in many cases become far too complicated. “The whole world of online sales is about to change,” explained Gilbert Verner, CEO of MyGarageBiz.com.
According to Verner, the entire concept in developing and launching the free web service was to simplify the process to the novice level so that anyone could either buy or sell goods online. “Almost immediately, visitors can browse existing items or create their own virtual garages to highlight items they wish to sell,” he said.
With MyGarageBiz.com’s free service, members are able to build a virtual garage that describes and graphically displays up to five items at a time. In order to display additional items, the company requests a donation to offset the added server costs.
There are a few key aspects intended to differentiate MyGarageBiz.com from its competition. For instance, the company does not get involved in the actual sales transaction. “We simply provide a means for people to connect with one another,” explained President and CIO Arjun Shankar. “We wanted to make this very community oriented and wanted to keep the garage sale feel where people get to negotiate with one another.”
CTO Jason Hewes added that even though the site is operational, the development crew intends to continue adding features as people demand them. “This is not a put it up and forget about it project,” he said. “Instead, we want this to be a growing entity that continues to provide the services its client base demands.”
